Hachiya: Astringent
The Hachiya persimmon tree is known to grow to a slightly smaller height than other varieties. This makes it perfect for smaller yards! The fruit is a deep orangey-red and grows in a heart-shape. Once the fruit is harvested from September – October, let it soften before consumption.
Native Female: Astringent
The Native Female will produce a small, soft fruit with a nutty flavor. Let the fruit soften before consumption.
Saijo: Astringent
The Saijo is the perfect variety if you are looking to eat the fruit when it is fresh! The orange fruit grows in a conical-shape and sits among large green leaves. Come harvest season, the fruit will stay on the tree long after the leaves have turned into their fall colors. Let the fruit soften before consumption.
Tanenashi: Astringent
The Tanenashi is a cold hardy persimmon and will bear cone-shaped fruit from a young age. The Tanenashi can grow to be around 15 feet tall. Since the oranged-skinned fruit is astringent, it is best to harvest the fruit from September – October and let it soften before consumption.
Chocolate: Astringent
The Chocolate persimmon has a brown flesh, known for its unique spicy yet sweet flavor. The Chocolate persimmon is a great pollinator! Expect the fruit be ready for harvest in late September/October, and let the fruit soften before consumption.

Weeping: Non-Astringent
As a Japanese variety, the Weeping persimmon tree must be staked when young. The fruit is small and deep red/orange in color, ripening from October – November. The tree can grow to 20 feet tall in a columnar shape spreading only 5 – 10 feet wide. Let the fruit soften before consumption.
The Coffeecake: Non-Astringent
The Coffeecake is known for its deep brown flesh and rich flavor. The harvest is late September/October, typically before the Fuyu. The Coffeecake is vigorous and fairly disease resistant. Expect the Coffeecake to grow to around 10 feet tall. Let the fruit soften before consumption.
